And now ANN has actually taken those titles off of their site! As such this post is altered to fit their current information and really doesn’t offer up any hope at all of the end of Naruto fillers… so who knows how long they’ll continue… wtf?

This could be a pre-mature crying of wolf, but recent releases of upcoming episode titles of Naruto have strongly supported that the wretched fillers will in fact be ending in the near future. The following is a prospective list of titles for upcoming Naruto episodes from Anime News Network, whom I trust. (obviously i was wrong here…)

Like I said, ANN is a pretty trustworthy source, and I pray they’re right on this (or I’m going to look like one big ass clown for posting this…)
The fillers really put Naruto on the back-burner for me, serving up mediocre episodes over and over again that I just couldn’t stand to watch after awhile. I know that others, especially those following the manga, are as eager as I am to see Naruto get back on track and start being awesome again.
Well, that’s about it. I’m sure most people reading this have already seen the topic on it in our forums, but I felt this was frontpage worthy news.

I read those episode names and said to myself “ah more fillers”… None of those titles fit with what is and has been going on in the manga since his fight with Sasuke…In fact the next arc should be the Kakashi Gaiden arc which none of those titles seems to suggest in the very least.

Hm, what shall I dub this arc? Naruto-in-search-of-blueprints arc? My filler expectations were never high, but since that last two-episode mini-arc of “Gai-delivering-mail”, they’ve fallen. I swear, if this filler keeps up… someone will have to sleep with their eyes open…

I just don’t understand why they started fillers in the first place. if the manga is so far ahead what are they worried about? If they catch up then they can start fillers, but what is with 100 episodes of garbage when there seems to be plenty of content…
I think it’s to earn money. U know, naruto’s so nice so maybe they think we’ll watch it no matter what since it going to become nice again. It IS going to become nice again right? I’m going to murder the producers if they’re going to end naruto with fillers.
This is just an evil plot to destroy fansubs. We get bad stuff so that we don’t watch the fansubs anymore. The people in Japan get the real stuff.
At episode 135 they were really close to the mangas. Each episode is about 1 1/2 mangas. Manga 238 was around episode 135. If they go past the manga then the story would go crazy -_- and they would have to cancel the show just like some other animes they had to cancel.

That’s your best friend for accurate NARUTO episode titles, since ANN’s gone downhill at the moment. The latest titles are at the bottom. It’s all in Japanese, but you can just run it through Babelfish or something.

well, we can always hope for the fillers to end…i mean we might as well seeing how it’s been over a year since we’ve been hoping for fillers to end…
and i think this waiting/filler is pretty good for a few reasons:
a. hypes us up for whats to come next (especially for those who read the manga)

….basically makes it feel as if the long wait was “worth it”
well i don’t see the manga and i stopped seeing naruto when the fillers came up so that the history got more excited and i could see the episodes much more reguraly and i was wondering if during these fillers they introduce real information concerning the manga like the times when konoha young ninjas are training =)
what i understand is that fillers were put so that the history could develop and the anime episodes could get done with more time and they turn in to (invented) somethings to explain reactions of some caracteres like sakura and Ino,

well…
1. the fillers really didnt add anything “new” plot-wise or character development-wise
2. the purpose of using filler is to widen the gap between anime and manga plot-wise. after the battle with k. naruto and cs2 naruto in the anime, the “gap” got way too narrow. hence, the reason why we see the filler. the strange thing about the current nonstop filler is that they’ve put in way too much compared to how much most anime series will have in a row. my guess for this is:
a. make a heck of a lot more money from those who actually buy the dvd’s
b. increase hype for the anime (so more viewers)
c. lessen the odds of having any more filler at all (maybe a few short arcs here and there as the anime progresses)

Well so positive side effects is that this gives you time to play the better naruto games that are finally being released over here. Like NHero1 Although NHero 2 is so much better.
Plus I do feel that the turning point is right around the corner. they can’t be that stupid as to continue filler distrabution after one year of lameness. that would be bad business sense. i am already annoyed at the slight lameness of the dubbed episodes already out. they are almost to season 3 already. The fillers have to end. America (if nothing else) excels at hurring up production of stuff.

well, there’s a thing called reruns that most north american tv stations (ie toonami) does quite often with anime…
then they could also show naruto “uncut” on adult swim or something lame like that..

but what i don’t understand is: instead of this lameness they gave us? why not show us what happens in the 2 1/2 years timeskip? that way the anime doesnt catch up to the manga and the anime is NOT lame as it is now.. o well it should get back on track come october, just in time for naruto’s birthday.

As it was stated many many times before folks.. the fillers last a complete [SEASON]. Season meaning for example: summer, winter, fall, etc.
It’s been said that the fillers will end and the anime to pick up in october. So just wait it out folks. Keep readin’ the manga though, cause there secrets to be revealed about Naruto’s Hidden Jutsu Powers that will amaze you.
Naruto is a show that churns an episode every week practically. In the USA we just show 13 episodes and the reruns for the rest of the year. Is there really a difference between them just showing reruns until the new season or just showing fillers? I mean they are at 200 episodes in 4 years. It took 9 years for The Simpsons to get to 200 episodes. If showing fillers keeps the series from being cancelled then I’m all for it. Would you perfer just dead air?

Used to sit and watch Naruto with my friends every week. It hasn’t been so for nearly a year, thanks to those freaking crappy fillers.
Japan goes through the same thing. I went there and watched the last episode on tv live before those fillers came.
Most people I know have dropped interest in Naruto and are watching other anime. Like bleach etc. Me, I just stopped watching, and check every few months to see if anything has happened.
I dont care for following much longer.
however, I do know there are a lot of fans out there, and many of you waiting.
I cheer for those that put effort into translating all of these anime, and spread them across the globe, to make it accessible to everyone.

Sheesh, you guys really don’t know why there were fillers in the frst place?
This is to give the mangaka time to fill out the story in the manga before it hits the anime. It has always been like this. The alternatives are:
* Let the anime go on ahead past the manga, thus forking the story in two. I think this is what happened with Full Metal Alchemist. In some cases, like Candidate for Goddess, the whole thing fell apart.
* Take a hiatus, don’t show any anime. No fillers … no Naruto episodes at all. This is what happened with Tsubasa.
* Make a “filler arc” that has a real story, but nothing substantial happens. Very difficult to do if you don’t want the story to branch off. This is what is happening with Bleach, but it may easily turn into a completely different storyline.
Although there is a bit of a profit motive, I can imagine much louder screams from the fans (like you) if Naruto went on a hiatus for an entire year.
So think about this before complaining about the fillers.
(Though I’m getting sick of ‘em already).

Not everyone is ignorent to the reasoning of why animes have fillers, of course not everyone wants to aknowledge the reasons why either. Then there are some people who just can’t accept fillers because they are not part of the manga. Which is sad cause in some instances they can be good (but not in Naruto case, 95% of them really do suck.) Either way, I feel it is better for people to simple inform others rather then expalin with verbal abuse or emotions towards others. Why do people have to be so immature. I say this based on some mean comments I have read elsewhere expaling matters such as fillers *sigh* poor noobs. *sigh again*

Anyway, I saw the previews from last weeks episode, which included a preview for the 90 minute special… and let me tell you, judging from the clips they were showing, it is NOT Kakashi Gaiden. It looked more like a cheap Naruto ‘Movie’.
I suppose all we can do is wait until it comes out, but I have very little hope after seeing the preview last week.

I mean theyre are total crap and just do not fit to what happened before them storywise.

The fillers started with episode 136 (the Fuuma clan arc, I believe)… Episode 101 was an actual “special” chapter in the manga.
A few very small snippets here and there were actually in the manga, but I can’t remember which exactly.
So after the 90-minute special this week, we’ll have had 69 episodes of filler! *dies*

I thought the fillers started around 142, but I havn’t read the manga yet so I can’t be sure.
Personally I loved the arc where Hinata showed off her new KAITEN move.

I think we need to wait until they have enough chapter for season 2 of Naruto. !st season we have around 135 episode before the fillers start airing. I just assume, the fillers will end when naruto series reach 230 or above.
a season is not defined by contiguous plot but by the network’s scheduling and advertising cycles. Typically a season is 26 weeks (half a year). Frequently, you’ll see a network contract a season worth of a show for a smaller number — either half-season (13 episodes), or a few short of a full- or half-season run (hence shows that are 11-12 or 24-25 episodes long). In the US, you see that reflected even more — take for example The Simpsons, which is on a regular half-year air schedule, with a half-year off (during which they show reruns). i really wish they end pretty soon, i stopped watching the show like 3 month ago and i have been reading the manga now if they dont stop with the fillers in the next 7 episodes i can just say i m quitting naruto altogether, there are better anime out there (bleach) which frankly are more tasteful

Fillers will end so, the new outro confirms it. Watch the last few seconds of it and it gives up a great hint that they will be at an end.
It’s still hard to tell with the recent episode titles on ANN if the fillers are going to come to an end. I assumed they were but it’s sort of hard to call even though the titles seem convincing and the intro may suggest otherwise.
i hate to make things sound worse then they already are but wikipedia has released the name of episode 209 which we all thought could have been the start of kakashi gaiden/naruto 2 since its the begining of the new season the shows title is “The enemy is Shinobazu”. :grin
yea i know…this is really getting lame and i’m sorta thinkin that naruto is just not gonna show the gaiden nor is it gonna animate part 2….at least not for a looooong time
Im predicting that they are doing it in a sorta like real time sense,
since the next arc starts naruto 2 years older the fillers may last exactly 2 years so it shows the transition of naruto growing up so that when the new naruto airs its not a complete shocker since it may be a big change to the character.
just a thought, but it seems to be heading that way. may 05 was when the fillers first started… so if im right, we got 7 months ish.. left.

That news on the plushies being released gave me hope, i m pretty much trying to contain myself, i just really hope its true, i dont want to bother with another filler arc again. i also have to agree with yunn aswell about the ending of naruto where they give a glimpse of naruto’s new outfit. these two pieces of evidence are very uplifting. now lets hope it turns out to be true.
Hey guys, I read through most of your comments because I had nothing better to do and I, too, want the fillers to start. But it’s sort of weird since I’ve only watched the first filler but it seemed VERY boring to me so I stopped. i have a few questions: 1. What is the episode number of the first filler? I mean, I just said that I watched it, but I’m not sure if it’s 136 or not. and 2nd question, should I bother to watch the fillers or not? Because I’ve heard they were boring (people say that here too) and the first filler was boring o me, so should I stop or are there good fillers too?

Are you sure about the whole season story arc? From what website/news source did you hear that. It would be a change of pace, but I don’t think they will do a whole season on Kakashi. There still is the Kakashi Gaiden. After that, they should be ready to get back on track. There is already a nice distance between the manga and the anime, so it only makes sense for them to continue the original story instead of going off on tangents.
i just watched episode 207 and on the ending it shows naruto running through some field then his clothes change to those from naruto part 2 of the manga
There’s that and also some indication from the OP theme where many of the characters are dressed up in suits.
yoo the fillers are endless, we are up to 207 and it does not seems that they will end soon, oh and also if you check wiki they have the episode list and they list 208,209 and they are still fillers,
so we can only hope they end in mid november.

Well that’s the thing. A year of fillers is definitely sufficient for them to start going back to the original story. Even if the fillers catch up (Considering that one episode covers about 1.5 manga chapters and noting that there are about 80+ chapters of information from Part II), that will not happen for a while. The 80 chapters cover about 54 episodes. By the time the anime gets there, the manga will still be far enough ahead.They should actually be starting the story now, but are instead showing us useless filler that has nothing to do with advancing the plot of the story.
But that’s why I’m sayig don’t watch it, start another anime or watch Asian dramas. And I really believe that Kakashi Gaiden is going to start soon because the ending of the latest fillers shows Naruto in his new outfit that he wears in Naruto 2 in the manga. I believe that they’re giving us hints that it’s going to start soon. Well not THAT soon because accoridng to the wikipedia Naruto episode list, the first episode of the ninth season is a filler, or so it seems, so I think the ninth season will be the last filler season and it’ll be over with. There’s about 26 episodes in each season, with one coming out every week………….well it might take a while, maybe summer 2007. Oh god, that is a long way from now, but it’s a good opportunity to start watching other anime. Plus, time goes by really fast. I sort of feel like I’m missing something from not watching these Naruto fillers but I’m not I guess, I’ve seen one of them and it was boring as hell. I’ve heard there was no character development either. :/
plus, the time gap is supposed to be 2 years right? well they got more than a year down with the fillers so far, by summer it’ll be 2 years. it would make sense if they start naruto 2 then. not that i want them too though, I want to watch it right now XD

I’ve read and seen about this in MANY sites and forums and this place is for you to COMMENT on the topic here. Which is “The end of Naruto fillers in sight?” If you really want to talk about it i can recommend you to some other forums where they have theories about this that are so far-fetch that you won’t believe it. You’ll start to think that people are so bored with the fillers that they can come up with anything interesting just to escape this horror. One thing… Kakashi never had his mask off and that was most likely a FAKE picture you saw! Besides i am thinking that the they are gonna wait until they are done making 100 mangas first starting with the Kakashi Gaiden. They have made 91 mangas starting with Kakashi Gaiden so far, so I am thinking that the part 2 will start around Christmas to a little past New Years. Does anyone else think so?

waiting is all we have got right now, nothing good has come out of the fillers except buy more time for the manga to progress, but some where on this site in another thread someone gave evidence and pics of naruto 2 plushis that will go on sale in february and that means that naruto 2 should start in december. this happened once before 2 month after the susuke retrieval arc started the rescue team plushis were released. thats the best evidence i have seen yet and lets hope its true.

OK lost memories could be the kakashi gaiden arc, but I not going to get my hopes up. Then only thing different about this epi I’ll do is download it the day it comes out instead of waiting a week for it to be put up on p2p. One other thing you guys should know. they could show use the gaiden and then return to filler, because its the only thing in the manga that can be used as “filler.” I will not even get excited for the gaiden becuase you know as well as i do that they could easily continue with filler after the gaiden.
The ONLY good thing about filler is that you can just write it off as a bad memory after it ends.

The source? Allegedly the information was posted in the Weekly Shonen Jump, with none other than Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto dishing out the details of when Naruto fans can expect a storyline that will once again continue to follow the story of the manga. It has now been confirmed that the Japanese Naruto anime series will be returning to it’s original storyline as told in the Naruto manga series, coming this next February, a few short months from now. Along with returning to the story, Naruto will be getting a brand new name to go by. It is nothing big that will blow your mind, but nonetheless a couple of words have been added – Naruto: Hurricane Chronicles – which appears to play reference to Naruto being a Wind Element user. This is also the name that the fourth Naruto movie, due to be released in theaters next Summer, will be going under as it is a movie that will take place after the time-skip.
